Graduate Mechanical / Process Engineer - Cork

Our client is a leading engineering services provider specialising in mechanical installation, heavy equipment coordination, pipe fabrication, and end‑to‑end project delivery. Your new role

You will play a key part in supporting the design, installation, and commissioning of mechanical and process systems across major projects. This position involves providing technical guidance, ensuring engineering standards are met, and contributing to efficient and safe project execution.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the design, installation, and commissioning of mechanical and process systems
  • Develop, review, and approve technical drawings, P&IDs, and project specifications
  • Prepare method statements, risk assessments, and supporting documentation
  • Carry out system walk downs and inspections to ensure compliance with quality and design requirements
  • Assist project teams with troubleshooting during construction and commissioning phases
  • Work closely with clients, project managers, and site teams to meet technical deliverables.
  • Oversee testing and validation activities in line with industry standards and regulations
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes and system performance
  • Maintain accurate records, reports, and as‑built documentation
  • Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental procedures

What you'll need to succeed

  • Degree in Mechanical, Process, or Chemical Engineering (or equivalent experience)

  • Ideally have some experience or internship in a mechanical/process engineering role across construction, pharma, data centre, or industrial sectors

  • Strong understanding of piping, utilities, and mechanical systems installation standards

  • Ability to interpret drawings, P&IDs, and technical documentation

  • Experience with commissioning, validation, and handover processes

  • Proficiency with engineering software and digital documentation tools

  • Safe Pass and relevant safety training

  • Excellent analytical, communication, and teamwork skills

  • Strong commitment to safety, quality, and cost-effective engineering
