Your new company
Your new company has been Ireland's foremost energy company since their establishment in 1927. They are driven to make a difference by achieving zero carbon emissions by 2040. They are a strong, diversified utility operating right across the electricity market: from generation, through transmission and distribution, to supply. They also work in other related sectors where they can make a difference, including telecommunications, electric vehicle charging, home retrofits and more.

Your New Position
Join a key Operations Systems Support (OSS) team responsible for maintaining and evolving critical Operational Technology (OT) systems, including the enterprise Geographic Information System (GIS) that supports the planning, design, construction, maintenance, and day‑to‑day operation of the national electrical distribution network.
In this role, you will provide technical expertise in administering and enhancing a large‑scale GIS solution used across engineering, operations, network planning, mobile workforce applications, and public safety initiatives.
You will support end users, manage data quality, coordinate system upgrades, develop change requests, and collaborate closely with internal stakeholders and external vendors.

What You Need to Succeed
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience and a third‑level qualification or equivalent.
  • Experience with enterprise GIS platforms including administration, troubleshooting, and end‑user support.
  • Proficiency in Oracle RDBMS and PL/SQL with a strong technical background.
  • Ability to manage GIS integrations with systems such as NMS, SAP‑ARM, Mobile solutions, and SynerGEE.
  • Experience delivering training, documentation, spatial analytics, and data extraction.
  • Understanding of HV/MV/LV electrical network assets and related data models.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and report‑writing skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and mentor junior team members.
  • Flexible, customer‑focused, and committed to safety and quality.

What You Get in Return
  • Opportunity to contribute to national infrastructure and the transition to a low‑carbon future.
  • Hybrid working model supporting flexibility and meaningful collaboration.
  • Career development, mentoring, and ongoing training opportunities.
  • Inclusive, values‑driven culture with a strong focus on diversity, equity, wellbeing, and teamwork.
  • Access to social clubs, CSR initiatives, networking groups, and employee support programmes.
  • Generous pension and parental leave benefits.
