Your new role

An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Geotechnical Engineer with 3+ years’ relevant experience to join a well-established geotechnical team, delivering complex design solutions on major infrastructure and commercial development projects.
Working as part of a multidisciplinary environment, you will collaborate closely with geotechnical professionals across multiple offices nationally. The role offers flexibility through a hybrid working arrangement, subject to connectivity requirements.
Key responsibilities include:
  • Preparation of ground investigation contract documentation for major infrastructure and commercial development projects
  • Planning, procurement and management of ground investigation contracts
  • Site supervision of ground investigation works across infrastructure and commercial sites
  • Preparation of geotechnical desk studies
  • Design of earthworks, slope stability solutions, shallow and deep foundations, and retaining walls in accordance with Eurocode 7, under senior supervision
  • Preparation of geotechnical reports, including earthworks specifications, design drawings, designer’s risk assessments and geotechnical risk registers

What you'll need to succeed

  • 3+ years’ experience in geotechnical design on major road, rail and civil engineering projects
  • A Level 8 Honours Degree / Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering or a related discipline
  • Experience within a fast-paced engineering consultancy environment
  • Site supervision experience including ground investigations and foundation inspections
  • Desk study experience using GIS based tools and available online data sources
  • Geotechnical design experience, ideally with Eurocodes, using numerical and industry-standard software (e.g. GeoStudio, OpenGround, CAD-based tools)
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to coordinate and lead site activities
  • High-quality report writing skills with strong attention to detail and self-checking ability
  • Fluent written and spoken English
  • A full, clean driving licence
