Financial Controller job - Exciting New Business - Galway City - Excellent Progression Opportunities

Your new company

Your new company is the most recent addition to Galway City's ever-expanding hospitality and tourism industry. Due to open in October 2024, the company is eager to add to their newly established senior management team with the addition of a high-performing Financial Controller. The company is part of a globally recognised luxury hospitality chain and fully owned and operated by a local Galway business who has a proven track record in the industry, having successfully operated similar establishments in Dublin and Sligo. The company has forecast rapid growth in terms of revenue and has ambitious plans for further expansion in years to come, both commercially and in terms of headcount.

Your new role

You will be the first hire for the company in finance. Not only will you play a significant role in establishing a fit-for-purpose finance function including instituting systems, cost controls and cash management procedures as well as establishing a comprehensive month-end process, annual budgeting and year-end group reporting structure; you will also play a major role in the running of the business operationally, acting as the second-in-command to the General Manager (who you will report to). This is an ideal role for someone who is motivated by implementing their own ideas, has aspirations of leading a diverse and high-performing finance team and who has an interest in being central to the commercial and operational success of a business.

What you'll need to succeed

You must be a fully qualified accountant holding a professionally recognised qualification (ACA/ACCA/CIMA/CPA). You will also preferably have some relevant industry experience from working in hospitality, FMCG, tourism or any other 'hands-on' industry such as construction, retail or manufacturing. Stakeholder management is a key aspect of the role so excellent communication skills are a must, as well as excellent attention-to-detail. Ability to work off your own initiative as well as part of team is another essential for this role. Previous team management experience is preferred but not essential.

What you'll get in return

You will earn a very competitive base salary up to €80,000 with the potential of bonuses coming on stream for 2025. You will also get global discounts across the full range of luxury hospitality brands within the group. In addition, you will receive all free meals on-site during work hours and free access to an on-site gym. Other benefits are due to be finalised and you will play a role in finalising a full, comprehensive benefits package.
