Financial Accountant

Your new company

A leading organisation in the renewable energy sector is expanding its finance function and offering an excellent opportunity within its high‑growth Renewables division. The company is heavily investing in large‑scale projects across wind, solar, battery storage and emerging technologies, making this a secure, future‑focused and fast‑developing industry to be part of.

Your new role

This is an 18‑month fixed‑term contract to cover maternity leave, with a strong likelihood of permanency due to ongoing growth and future resource needs.
You’ll work end‑to‑end across renewable asset companies, gaining broad exposure rather than being siloed. Responsibilities include:

  • Managing P&L, cashflow and monthly management accounts
  • Preparing and analysing 5‑year budgets and monthly forecasts
  • Tracking capex and supporting capital projects from early stages
  • Working closely with project managers on budgeting and performance
  • Balance sheet reconciliations and intercompany accounts
  • VAT, RCT and tax compliance
  • Preparing audit packs and supporting external/internal audits
  • Monthly reporting and ad‑hoc analysis
  • Supporting an upcoming ERP finance system implementation
The role suits someone who enjoys ownership, variety and working in a fast‑moving environment.

What you'll need to succeed

• Fully qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA)
• Ideally 2 years’ PQE, but strong newly qualified candidates will be considered
• Strong technical grounding in P&L, cashflow and management accounts
• Experience with capital projects or capex tracking is a major advantage
• Systems savvy — ERP experience (SAP or similar) is highly desirable
• A proactive, adaptable personality who enjoys a youthful, collaborative team
• Immediate availability or short notice period preferred
• Sector experience in energy or renewables is beneficial but not essential.
