Your new company
Your new company is involved in the FMCG industry. A family owned enterprise which originated from very humble beginnings, it has bloomed into one of the major players in the domestic food market. This highly ambitious company is experiencing rapid growth (turnover growing by over 300% in the last decade) currently and plans to continue this expansion into the near future through a combination of organic growth, investment and acquisitions. The company boasts a terrific culture which strikes the balance between having a very professional structure within a close-knit, flat organisation. It is a brilliant opportunity to join a company on an upward trajectory in a position that will grow into a more senior role with time and progression.
Your new role
You will be a Financial Accountant reporting to the Financial Controller and will play a vital role in producing month-end management accounts, year-end statutory and tax returns, managing the external audit process and supporting the AP/AR and payroll functions. You will also gain exposure to elements of FP&A, supporting the FC by playing a role in formulating the budgeting process, helping implement cost controls and process improvements, producing cashflow forecasts etc. As the role grows, you will liaise with stakeholders across the business to help drive continued commercial success for the company.
What you'll need to succeed
You must be a fully qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA/CPA). Industry experience is not required (but is considered an advantage) as the role is open to accountants coming directly from practice as well as industry. You will be an ambitious candidate who is eager to learn and develop professionally within the company as progression is guaranteed for the right candidate. You will have experience finalising accounts (in practice or industry) and completing bank res, processing invoices etc. A keen eye for detail is essential as are excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, as the role is highly collaborative.
What you'll get in return
You will get a very competitive starting salary for a newly qualified accountant. It is a tremendous opportunity for someone who is eager to gain broad exposure in industry as the role has the potential to develop into a broad and varied role. Progression in terms of both salary and responsibility is guaranteed for the right candidate as the company have a track record of promoting from within. You will also gain exceptional mentorship from a highly experienced Financial Controller and other senior leadership figures who you will be liaising with.
