Accountant job for a growing property group with a commercial and development portfolio based in Cork.

A long-established and growing Irish property and asset management business is seeking an experienced Accountant to join the finance team. The organisation has a diverse portfolio spanning commercial and retail property, mixed-use developments, development land and buildings. Headquartered in Cork City, the company trades across the Island of Ireland and internationally.

Your new role

You will support the Financial Controller and manage a small finance team, based full time in the Cork City HQ.

  • Oversee the day-to-day financial operations of the business across multiple business units.
  • Produce monthly management accounts, reporting packs, P&L reports and cash flow forecasts.
  • Involvement in budgeting, forecasting and annual financial reporting processes.
  • Assist with managing the finance team, including oversight of accounts receivable, accounts payable and payroll functions.
  • Monitor cash flow across multiple business units.
  • Ensure compliance with tax, VAT and financial covenant requirements.
  • Review VAT returns and support statutory reporting obligations.
  • Maintain strong financial controls, policies and procedures across the organisation.
  • Partner with operational teams to support tenant agreements and commercial activities.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or ACA).
  • Minimum 5 years' post-qualified experience.
  • Previous experience within property, real estate, asset management or a related industry would be highly advantageous.
  • Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and commercial awareness.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritise competing demands and operate in a fast-paced environment.
