Your new company

Our client is a leading, internationally recognised research centre based within a major higher education institution in Cork. The centre supports a large and diverse community of academics, researchers, postgraduate students and professional services staff, and operates at the forefront of innovation and collaborative research. Due to continued activity, they are now seeking an Executive Assistant to join their team on a fixed-term basis.

Your new role

As Executive Assistant, you will provide high-quality personal and administrative support to the Director and senior management team. This is a role offering excellent exposure to a large, fast-paced research environment and the opportunity to develop your skills within a professional services setting.
Duties will include complex diary and email management, organising meetings, coordinating travel arrangements and providing general administrative support to the wider centre. You will assist with events, support office and facilities management, raise purchase orders, maintain accurate records and respond to internal and external queries in a professional manner. The role involves regular interaction with academics, researchers, students and external stakeholders, requiring discretion, organisation and flexibility.
This role operates on a hybrid working model, initially requiring 5 days on-site, then transitioning to approximately 3 days on-site.

What you'll need to succeed

You will have 1–2 years’ experience in an administrative role, some PA or EA exposure desirable. You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, strong organisational and time-management abilities, and proven attention to detail. You will be comfortable dealing with a wide range of stakeholders and managing multiple priorities in a busy environment. Strong IT skills, particularly in Microsoft Office and collaborative tools, are essential. Experience in a university, research or professional services environment is desirable.

What you'll get in return

You will receive a competitive salary and the opportunity to work with a highly regarded Employer of Choice in Cork. This role offers valuable experience, career development potential and exposure to a dynamic and collaborative research environment with potential for contract extension subject to performance.
