Your new company

As Events Officer, you will join a Cultural Institute who are known as one of Ireland's leading museum institutions, with a strong emphasis on national and some international archaeology, Irish history, Irish art, culture, and natural history. Your new position is to support the continued expansion of your new employer’s commercial activity and specifically work on large-scale events. Your new office is located in Dublin City and is accessible via public transport. Your new company requires you to join their team on a 6-month assignment with a view to extension

Your new role

You will be tasked with supporting the Commercial Development Office in the administration and management of large-scale events. You will also be responsible for maximising and supporting the commercial development of the Museum from new to existing commercial activities. This would include the catering franchise, corporate room and venue hire, filming, car parking, sponsorship, donations, and any other activities that support the development of the commercial remit of the Museum.

What you'll need to succeed

You will ideally have relevant experience in a similar role, providing administration and management support of events. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are required as you will be communicating with a diverse range of individuals and stakeholders. Excellent organisational skills with the ability to gather and research information is essential. Strong IT skills, including MS Suite, are required. A keen eye for detail as well as strong writing skills, including report writing, is necessary. Experience in the museum, gallery, heritage or culture sectors is desirable but not essential.
