Estimator – Roofing & Cladding

Hays Recruitment is hiring on behalf of our client, a well established and growing specialist contractor operating within the roofing and cladding sector.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join a dynamic organisation delivering high-quality roofing and cladding projects across Ireland and Europe.

The Role
As Quantity Surveyor, you will play a key role in the commercial management of projects from tender through to final account. The position is Head Office based and involves close collaboration with project teams, suppliers, subcontractors and clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Preparing Bills of Quantities from architectural drawings and specifications
  • Measuring and quantifying works using software such as Bluebeam
  • Reviewing architectural drawings, technical details and project specifications
  • Cost planning, budgeting, and commercial reporting
  • Liaising with clients, suppliers and subcontractors to obtain and negotiate pricing
  • Reviewing design proposals and identifying value engineering opportunities
  • Supporting the commercial delivery of roofing, cladding and rainscreen façade projects
Requirements
  • Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying (preferred)
  • 5–10 years’ experience in a similar role
  • Previous experience in roofing and cladding is highly desirable
  • Strong knowledge of roofing systems and materials (e.g. Moy Materials, Sika, Soprema)
  • Experience with cladding systems including Kingspan / Euroclad, Paroc, Hoesch
  • Knowledge of rainscreen cladding systems (Kingspan, Vivalda, Swisspearl)
  • Proficient in Excel
  • Strong ability to interpret drawings and specifications
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
