Electrical Tester - Data Centre Projects - Hourly Rate DOE

Your New Company
Your new company is one of the leading engineering contractors in Ireland. They are involved in projects across many sectors, such as Pharmaceutical, Data Centre, Healthcare, Education, and Commercial.
You will join a hard-working, ambitious team, and you will benefit from a supportive culture, where your ideas and contributions will be recognised. They are now looking to recruit Electrical Testers on a contract basis for a project in Dublin.

Your New Role
In your new role as an Electrical Tester, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality, safety, and compliance of electrical installations in line with national regulations and company standards.
Your duties and responsibilities will include:
  • Responsible for inspecting and testing electrical systems and equipment and ensuring they comply with specifications, electrical wiring regulations and standards.
  • Keep records, compile inspection and test reports for issue to the site management team.
  • Reviewing and compiling test documents from specialist suppliers and subcontractors for inclusion in O&M and BCAR handover documentation.
  • Advising on non-compliant installations.
  • Inspecting wiring and terminations for quality and compliance.
  • Writing up recommendations for improvement.
  • Ensuring all test instruments have current calibration certificates and assisting in maintaining the test instrument register.
  • When not carrying out testing procedures, be available to carry out electrical installation work as required by the Project Manager or Site Supervisor.
  • Installation works shall include all aspects of low and extra-low voltage systems and include, but are not limited to, containment, cabling and wiring, final fixing, glanding and terminating.

What you need to succeed
  • Experience in live testing
  • National Craft Certificate.
  • QC number from Safe Electric.
  • A minimum of two years’ experience in a similar position.
  • Testing Meter and Calibration Certificate.
  • Flashgear
  • Up-to-date Safe Pass Certificate.
  • Up-to-date Manual Handling Certificate.
  • Thorough knowledge of the operation of electrical test instruments.
  • Knowledge of applicable electrical codes, standards, and regulations.
  • Knowledge of the tools, equipment, and materials common to the electrical trade.
  • Skill in the installation of all types of electrical system equipment and components.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills.

Pay Range and Compensation Package:
You will be paid at a competitive hourly rate between €30 to €40 per hour. These are typically paid for 48 hours per week, and you will be paid for any overtime hours worked. This comes out to approximately 75k to 95k when converted to an annual salary. This is open to PAYE and self-employed workers. It's a great time to join their expanding organisation as you will have great exposure to multi-million-euro projects and grow within to progress to more senior roles.
