Electrical Project Engineer – Dublin (12-Month Contract)

Your new company

Our Client, a leading biopharmaceutical facility in Dublin, is seeking a Project Electrical Engineer to support a major capital project. This role offers the opportunity to work on complex systems including electrical, controls, instrumentation, life safety, and security systems across GMP and non-GMP environments.

Your new role

  • Act as the primary point of contact for electrical and instrumentation systems within the project team.
  • Review and support design deliverables including drawings, datasheets, specifications, and engineering lists.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards (GMP, EHS, CE, etc.) throughout the design and execution phases.
  • Participate in system design reviews, 3D model reviews, HAZOPs, FATs, SATs, and construction walkdowns.
  • Lead electrical walkdown teams and support commissioning and qualification activities.
  • Develop bid packages for electrical equipment and construction, and assist in vendor evaluation and procurement.
  • Maintain design intent and support project scheduling, documentation, and coordination across disciplines.
  • Provide technical support during troubleshooting, commissioning, and maintenance planning.
  • Liaise with project stakeholders to ensure alignment and timely delivery of project milestones.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Qualified Electrician (FETAC accredited) with industrial experience.
  • Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent qualification with a trade background.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in pharmaceutical or life sciences industry.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems including power distribution, UPS, lighting, fire alarm, security, and hazardous areas.
  • Experience with instrumentation, controls, and functional safety.
  • Proficiency in tools such as AutoCAD, SAP, Microsoft Project, Visio, and Building Management Systems.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proven ability to work in a team and adapt to changing project needs.
