Hays Recruitment are currently recruiting an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our client, a leading consultancy based in Cork.

Technical competence

• Be commercially aware when designing - design in line with agreed project budget and brief.
• Complete budgets for basic projects e.g OPW, small scale fit-out.
• Extract and record client brief on basic projects.
• Complete design layout, schematics and calculations, basis of design within their own discipline.
• Complete value engineering exercise for basic projects.
• Assess received variations from contractors for basic projects and make payment recommendations.
• Negotiate final account on basic projects with contractors.
• Carry out survey and prepare condition report for basic projects.
• Carry out survey and prepare planned preventative maintenance report for basic projects.
• Prepare for and attend design team meetings/M&E coordination meetings and close out actions.
• Complete design layouts, schematics and calculations within their own discipline.
• Provide inputs for sustainability reports and liaise with internal and external sustainability team.
• Understand what the LEED/BREEAM project requirements are, and liaise with external LEED/BREEAM consultant.
• Review and recommend plant & equipment selections from manufactures.
• Respond to contractor RFI's
• Attend post tender review meetings, liaise with contractors to close out post tender queries and prepare the tender analysis report.
• Assess contractor interim claims and final account claims and prepare payment recommendations
• Competent to deliver project requirements within project programme.
