Data Engineer - Contract (Stamp 4, Stamp 1G, and EU citizens)

My client is a Pharma company with a large base in Ireland with offices spread across Limerick and Cork.

Your new role

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines using Databricks and Apache Spark.
• Collaborate with data analysts and data scientists to understand data needs and provide appropriate data solutions.
• Optimise existing ETL processes to enhance performance and efficiency.
• Ensure data quality by implementing validation and testing procedures.
• Work with Big Data technologies and frameworks to manage large datasets.
• Assist in data modelling and design of data warehouses to support business intelligence initiatives.
• Monitor and troubleshoot data pipeline performance issues.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to best practices and standards in data engineering.
• Document data processes, architecture, and workflows for knowledge sharing across the team.
• Stay updated with industry trends and emerging technologies related to data engineering.
• Drive innovation in this area of data engineering.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively in a team environment.

What you'll need to succeed

• Databricks & Apache Spark
• ETL pipeline development and optimisation
• SQL, Python/Scala
• Cloud experience (Azure preferred, AWS also suitable)
• Data warehousing & modelling
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• EU passport / Stamp 4 visa/ Stamp 1g (spouse)

What you'll get in return

• Contract: Until end of year, with potential extension
• Location: Hybrid (2–3 days onsite in Limerick)
• Rate: Up to €412 per day
• Eligibility: Open to Stamp 4, Stamp 1G, and EU citizens
• Experience: 3+ years in data engineering
