Your new role
As a credit manager, you will play a key role within the company's credit function, with the key duties below:- Lead, mentor, and develop the credit team
- Ensure appropriate training and ongoing support is provided
- Maintain high standards in credit control, collections, and account management, aligned with SLAs
- Manage customer queries and escalations effectively
- Negotiate and agree payment arrangements with customers
- Engage with debt collection agencies and legal partners when necessary
- Support colleagues across the business as required
- Prepare regular reporting (weekly, monthly, quarterly)
- Represent the organisation at relevant industry forums and meetings
- Conduct regular account reviews with credit controllers and sales management
- Oversee and manage the debtor ledger
- Deliver strong performance in line with company KPIs
- Set and monitor customer credit limits and terms
- Resolve customer account queries efficiently
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date customer records
- Ensure timely processing of all financial transactions
- Adhere to SOX compliance requirements at all times
What you'll need to succeed
- An experienced leader with 5+ years experience in credit management, along with 2+ years' experience in people management
- Highly motivated and focused on achieving results
- Strong understanding of debtor ledger management
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills
- Relevant professional qualification (desirable)
- Knowledge of SOX compliance (an advantage)
- Full Category B driving licence with flexibility to travel
- Keen to continuously develop their knowledge and skillset
