Your new company
You will oversee the management accounting function within the Finance Department. This role involves analysing financial data, maintaining accurate cost information, ensuring effective cost control, and collaborating with production, supply chain, and finance teams to support cost-efficient operations. The position also plays a key role in financial planning, budgeting, and reporting, providing insights to improve profitability and operational efficiency.

Your new role

Cost Accounting Management
  • Direct and oversee all cost accounting activities, including standard costing, inventory valuation, and variance analysis.
  • Maintain and continuously improve cost accounting systems to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
  • Deliver monthly, quarterly, and annual cost reports to support strategic decision-making.
Cost Analysis & Reporting
  • Perform in-depth analysis of production costs, overheads, and key cost drivers.
  • Generate timely reports on cost trends, product profitability, and operational performance metrics.
  • Establish and monitor KPIs to drive cost efficiency and operational effectiveness.
  • Investigate variances between budgeted and actual costs, identifying root causes and actionable insights.
  • Partner with department leaders to manage and control expenditure effectively.
Process Improvement
  • Identify and implement opportunities for cost reduction and process optimization.
  • Lead initiatives to enhance cost accounting systems and streamline reporting processes.
  • Collaborate with IT and finance teams to automate workflows and improve efficiency.
Team Leadership
  • Manage, mentor, and develop the cost accounting team, fostering professional growth and engagement.
  • Promote a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement across the organization.
  • Coordinate cross-functional efforts to strengthen cost management strategies and deliver business value.

What you'll need to succeed
Candidates should hold a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance and be a qualified professional (ACA, CPA, CIMA, or ACCA). You will bring a minimum of 5 years’ experience in cost accounting or financial analysis, including team management, ideally within a GMP manufacturing or production environment. A strong understanding of cost accounting principles—such as standard costing, activity-based costing, and variance analysis—is essential. Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) is also required.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate advanced proficiency in Excel and data analysis tools, coupled with excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. A high level of attention to detail and accuracy is essential, along with the ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines. You should possess strategic thinking capabilities, translating data into actionable insights, and exhibit strong leadership and team management skills. The role requires the ability to lead and collaborate effectively across functions, driving results through others.
