Your new company is a leading organisation within the utilities' industry. They are committed to growth, innovation and sustainability continues to be top of their agenda. They now require a Contracts Performance Manager to join their team in Cork on a permanent basis.

Your new role

The Contracts Performance Manager will lead and direct the work of the Contracts Performance Team, ensuring the effective delivery of the organisation’s investment plan through robust frameworks and contracts. They will be accountable for defining contract requirements, supporting the tender and appointment process, and establishing structured performance reporting monitoring commercial outcomes such as cost control, forecasting accuracy, risk management, change control, and dispute resolution. Acting as an escalation point, they will manage contract performance issues and drive continuous improvement across the contract lifecycle, embedding lessons learned into future practices. The role includes generating and overseeing regular KPI and management reports, coordinating performance review meetings, and managing a team responsible for data updates and reporting packs. The manager will foster a collaborative culture with delivery partners to achieve optimal outcomes, lead a contract governance forum to promote best practices, and work with internal teams to support contract management training and strategy development. Additional duties may be assigned as required.


What you'll need to succeed

The ideal candidate will hold a relevant third-level degree in Engineering, Business, Finance, Quantity Surveying, or a related field, with at least seven years’ post-qualification experience in a similar role within a large, complex utility. They will have strong influencing and negotiation skills, proven leadership in managing high-performing teams, and solid experience in contract, stakeholder, and risk management. The role requires the ability to manage multiple stakeholders, build strategic relationships, and support the delivery of key projects. Candidates should be confident in optimising contracts, managing change, and embedding best practices. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential, along with the ability to act as a point of escalation for contract-related issues.
