Construction Planner/Scheduler – Key Infrastructure Projects

Your New Role
In your role as a Construction Planner / Scheduler, you will be responsible for developing, monitoring, and updating project programmes using planning software such as Primavera P6 and MS Project. You will prepare cost and resource-loaded programmes for forecasting and monitoring and provide progress reports and dashboards to project teams. You will work closely with stakeholders to identify and mitigate risks and constraints, ensuring timely delivery of project milestones.
Additional responsibilities include:
  • Assist in developing and maintaining project schedules using Primavera P6 and MS Project.
  • Support the preparation of cost and resource loading programmes for forecasting and monitoring.
  • Understand and apply the requirements of the NEC suite of contracts related to scheduling and programme updates.
  • Generate progress reports, forecasts, and dashboards for project teams and management.
  • Identify scheduling risks and constraints and collaborate with team members to mitigate delays.
  • Proactively engage with the Contractor to encourage a collaborative working relationship while maintaining contractual compliance.
  • Review and comment on Contractor submissions, including Method Statements,
  • Inspection and Test Plans, and Health and Safety Plans.
  • Report non-conformances, safety observations, and issues promptly and professionally.
  • Support the client and project management teams in risk management, early warning notifications, compensation event assessments, and other NEC processes.
  • Mentor and develop junior site staff.

What You Need to Succeed
  • Relevant degree or diploma in Engineering, Construction Management, or related discipline.
  • Familiarity with Primavera P6 and MS Project.
  • Basic understanding of NEC3 and/or NEC4 contracts.
  • Strong analytical and communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
  • Full driving licence and willingness to travel across project locations.
