Your new role
As Company Secretariat Manager, you will report to the Company Secretary and play a pivotal role in managing and developing the Secretariat function. You’ll act as a key conduit between the Board and the business, ensuring governance excellence across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage Board and Committee meetings, papers, minutes, and actions.
- Ensure compliance with governance codes and legislation (Companies Act 2014, Code of Practice for the Governance of State Bodies).
- Liaise with Shareholding Departments, regulatory bodies, and other stakeholders.
- Oversee statutory filings, corporate policy documents, and document control.
- Advise senior leadership on governance and company law matters.
- Coach and develop junior Secretariat team members.
- Coordinate Board member induction and training.
- Lead the Board evaluation process.
What you'll need to succeed
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a senior company secretarial or governance role.
- Relevant third-level qualification in law, governance, business, or related field.
- Strong understanding of Irish company law and public sector governance.
- Experience in a semi-state or regulated entity is an advantage.
- Excellent organisational, administrative, and communication skills.
- High attention to detail and ability to manage confidential information.
- Proactive mindset with strong influencing and decision-making abilities.
- Chartered Secretary qualification (or working towards) is desirable.
