Your new role

As Company Secretariat Manager, you will report to the Company Secretary and play a pivotal role in managing and developing the Secretariat function. You’ll act as a key conduit between the Board and the business, ensuring governance excellence across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage Board and Committee meetings, papers, minutes, and actions.
  • Ensure compliance with governance codes and legislation (Companies Act 2014, Code of Practice for the Governance of State Bodies).
  • Liaise with Shareholding Departments, regulatory bodies, and other stakeholders.
  • Oversee statutory filings, corporate policy documents, and document control.
  • Advise senior leadership on governance and company law matters.
  • Coach and develop junior Secretariat team members.
  • Coordinate Board member induction and training.
  • Lead the Board evaluation process.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a senior company secretarial or governance role.
  • Relevant third-level qualification in law, governance, business, or related field.
  • Strong understanding of Irish company law and public sector governance.
  • Experience in a semi-state or regulated entity is an advantage.
  • Excellent organisational, administrative, and communication skills.
  • High attention to detail and ability to manage confidential information.
  • Proactive mindset with strong influencing and decision-making abilities.
  • Chartered Secretary qualification (or working towards) is desirable.
