Community engagement lead for Kildysart

Your new company

You will be joining a nationally significant infrastructure initiative designed to ensure clear, transparent and proactive engagement with local communities throughout the development of a major state ‑ led project. This organisation places strong emphasis on responsible development, community partnership, and maintaining trust through open, consistent communication.

Your new role

As Community Liaison Officer (CLO), you will act as the primary link between the project team and the local community during the project’s development and construction phases. This highly visible, external ‑ facing role involves managing community enquiries, anticipating and addressing concerns, and ensuring local stakeholders receive clear, accessible and timely information.

You will work closely with project managers, contractors and communications colleagues to coordinate engagement activity, support community meetings and events, translate technical information into plain language, and maintain accurate logs, reports and communications materials.

What you'll need to succeed

Essential skills & experience:
  • Previous experience in community liaison or community engagement roles.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and credibility.
  • Understanding of community engagement principles and local/community affairs.
  • Ability to manage multiple enquiries, maintain detailed logs and administrative records.
  • Confidence in working independently and within a multidisciplinary project team.
  • Full driving licence and willingness to travel across Co. Clare and surrounding areas
Desirable:
  • Experience in a similar role within an infrastructure or major project environment.
  • Willingness to learn new skills and adapt to evolving project needs.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel).
Working arrangements:
  • Predominantly site and community ‑ based.
  • Occasional evening or weekend work to support community meetings and events.
  • Flexibility to respond to emerging issues as the project progresses

What you'll get in return

You will take on a meaningful role at the heart of a high ‑profile national project, shaping how communities engage with the development and ensuring their voices are heard. You will build strong relationships with stakeholders and gain experience in a unique infrastructure context, contributing to the successful delivery of a project of national importance.
