Your new role
As the Commercial Rating & Billing Specialist, you will take ownership of ensuring the accurate and timely invoicing of all transport services. You will validate rate cards, analyse job data, and collaborate closely with transport and operations teams to ensure invoices fully reflect the services delivered. Your responsibilities will include:

• Generating and issuing accurate invoices within agreed timelines
• Validating charges against customer rate cards and contract terms
• Managing and resolving customer billing queries
• Identifying process improvements and contributing to automation initiatives
• Producing reports, reconciliations, and supporting financial controls
• Liaising with internal teams to resolve discrepancies and document exceptions
• Supporting and guiding junior team members when required

What you'll need to succeed
You will bring 3–5 years’ experience in a similar role. You will have strong analytical and numerical ability, with excellent attention to detail and proven experience working with large data sets and rate‑card‑based billing. Proficiency in MS Excel and familiarity with finance or transport management systems is essential, while experience with BI or reporting tools is an advantage. You will have strong communication skills, confidence in managing customer queries, and the ability to meet strict deadlines while maintaining high levels of accuracy. A proactive approach to identifying issues, solving problems, and driving process improvements is key to success in this role. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast‑paced environment and enjoys working with data, systems, and cross‑functional teams.
