Job Summary:
The Cloud Architect will be responsible for the architecture, design, implementation and operability of new and updated cloud-based solutions for businesses. The successful candidate will work closely with the IT Build & Delivery teams and Business Change to provide technical project delivery through the project lifecycle across a portfolio of projects. They will ensure that cloud infrastructure and applications are optimised for the organisation's needs and maximise cost-effectiveness while ensuring the cloud environment is secure and compliant with industry standards and regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Interpret the Enterprise Architecture strategy to create best-in-class solution architectures and cloud-based solutions that are scalable, secure, and efficient.
- Ensure that cloud infrastructure and applications are optimised for the organisation's needs and maximise cost-effectiveness.
- Ensure the cloud environment is secure and compliant with industry standards and regulations.
- Support the establishment and implementation of policies and best practices for cloud technologies to ensure consistency and adherence to business standards.
- Ensure IT cloud solutions enhance flexibility, consistency, integration, and use for our customers.
- Collaborate with Architecture teams to maintain practical and value-adding architecture models and baselines.
- Build strong relationships across the IT organisation to optimise co-operation and maximising efficiencies across IT.
- Stay up to date on cloud trends and the latest advancements in cloud technologies.
- Participate in the evaluation/selection of technology solutions, where required.
- Ensure IT capital programs related to cloud technologies stay aligned to the business's technology strategy.
- Model and define the roadmap for both Azure and OCI cloud tenancies and design capabilities in line with the company's Cloud Strategy.
- Oversee low-level design patterns and successful transition of capabilities into operations.
Requirements:
- Relevant industry experience and practice in following architecture standards in line with recognised frameworks (TOGAF) is desirable.
- Strong experience in defining a Cloud Strategy and developing out Cloud Platform capabilities within Azure and/or Oracle Cloud is desirable.
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience working with Microsoft Azure and/or Oracle Cloud is desirable.
- Relevant third level qualifications and/or accreditations are desirable.
- The ability to develop and maintain effective strategic partnerships with key stakeholders internally and externally.
- A proven track record for dealing with complex issues, proactively and in a timely fashion, along with the ability to communicate complex information to others.
- Highly motivated individual, working to the highest professional standards and with a proven ability to deliver results.
- Strong analytical skills and ability to identify and analyse problems and potential improvements and propose and implement solutions.
- Demonstrate adaptability and the ability to change focus and direction in line with business strategy and requirements.
- Proactively identifying new areas of improvement and using newly gained knowledge and skills on the job.
