Role: Clinical Pharmacist
Location: Dublin
Hybrid work model.
12-month contract
Excellent daily rate available

Here at Hays, we are working with a leading information and technology-enabled health services business in Ireland that are seeking to hire a Clinical Pharmacist on a contract basis. Their teams are dedicated to modernizing the health care system and improving the lives of people and communities globally.

Primary Responsibilities of the Clinical Pharmacist:
  • Apply strong clinical knowledge of therapeutics and evidence-based medicine to evaluate medical literature, clinical guidelines, and healthcare trends, contributing to the development of drug coverage policies
  • Presentation of utilization management criteria to committees such as the National Pharmacy & Therapeutics (P&T) committee and Utilization Management Committee
  • Uphold high standards of clinical integrity and ethical practice to ensure fair and equitable access to medications through utilization management strategies.
  • Translate custom drug coverage requests into policy recommendations that align with that payers’ pharmacy and medical benefit structures, in collaboration with payer teams.
  • Support the implementation of custom drug coverage criteria for key clients, working closely with Account Management teams.
  • Develop an understanding of U.S. regulatory frameworks, including Medicare Part D, and how they influence drug coverage and utilization management.
  • Act as a subject matter expert in utilization management, contributing to cross-functional projects with teams such as Operations, Account Management, and Industry Relations.
  • Assist in defining and tracking key performance indicators to measure the effectiveness of utilization management programs.
  • Demonstrate strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a dynamic, remote-first environment.

Required Qualifications of the Clinical Pharmacist:
  • Registered Pharmacist in Ireland (with the PSI) or US (state specific registration)
  • Proven experience working as a Clinical Pharmacist (3 years minimum)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Powerpoint, Excel)

Preferred Qualifications of the Clinical Pharmacist:
  • Experience developing coverage policies for drug coverage programs
  • Health economics qualifications
  • Health Informatics further education
  • Specialization in specific disease states
  • Proficient in drug information practices
  • Managed Care/PBM experience
  • Development/Clinical Utilization Management experience
