A Civil Structural Design Project Manager is required in the Mayo region.

Your new company

Our client is an award-winning design-focused civil, structural, geotechnical and water engineering practice. They have extensive experience in design and build contracts and deal with both the public and private sectors, including government bodies, developers, main contractors and owners. They are now seeking to recruit a Civil & Structural Design Project Manager in Mayo. The successful candidate will be a Member of Engineers Ireland with at least 5 years’ experience in Civil and/or Structural Engineering, including design and construction. You will assist in the preparation of high-quality engineering design for a broad range of civil and structural engineering projects. All work is carried out in accordance with company ISO 9001 procedures.
Requirements for Civil & Structural Design Project Manager in Mayo:
For this role, you will have a Level 8 Degree in Civil and/or Structural Engineering and/or Construction Management or similar.
5–8 years + experience in a structural and civil design consultancy. Some site experience would be beneficial but not essential.
• A Master’s degree would be beneficial but not essential.
• Professional Project Management Qualifications preferred but not essential.
• Strong Project Management skills with a track record of successful project delivery.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work in a highly regulated and quality-focused environment.
• A proactive approach to solving problems with an ability to adapt to changing scenarios
• You must also have strong working knowledge of the current Irish Building Regulations.
• Full working knowledge of British and Eurocode Design Standards for Concrete, Steel, Masonry and Timber
You must be proficient in using AutoCAD/Revit and be capable of preparing detailed technical designs and drawings to an exceptional standard.
• A good knowledge of Robot, Staad PRO-QSE or similar is essential.

Your new role

Project Management:
  • Manage workflow for construction projects, reporting to the Director. Project tracker with key dates and resources.

  • Client liaison on existing and future projects – Tender & Construction stages.
  • Ensure the completion of early-stage project review and design intent on all projects within the project team, prior to director review.
  • Site attendance as contracted, key milestones, i.e. client meetings.
  • Review pre-construction issue information with the Director prior to client issue.
  • Provide Clients support in the civil and structural consultancy role.
  • Project review at project close with the Director.
Design Management
  • Lead the civil/structural design team on various projects
  • Agree and manage project delivery milestones.
  • Allocate team resources to support engineers/architects in individual projects. Monitor their efficiency in responding to clients on RFIs, general correspondence and production/issue of information.
