Civil Site Engineers are required for various roles in Galway, Clare and the west.
Your new company
A number of roles are available across Galway, and the west of Ireland for civil site engineers, including junior and senior level positions. You will be working on civil related projects (water / wastewater experience would be an advantage). For the senior role, you will be primarily involved in the daily inspection of the quality of the work completed onsite. Alongside the site, you will initiate continuous improvements to ensure the project is delivered on time and within budget. This will ensure the customers' expectations are met, whilst aligning the activities within industry standards. Responsibilities for both the junior and senior engineer are listed below.The responsibilities of a senior engineer include:
• Manage site engineers and support the Site Agent and supervisors with the day-to-day running of the site
• Support the site agent to deliver exemplary health, safety, environmental and quality performance
• Responsible for quality control, understanding of specifications.
• Provide engineering support to ensure technical problems are overcome and technical queries are answered
• Take a proactive approach to resolving any unexpected technical difficulties and other problems that may arise
• Responsible for providing and maintaining setting out and dimensional control, to ensure accurate construction of the work
Qualifications
• Educated to degree standard in Civil Engineering or equivalent
• You should have demonstrable (5 years) of experience of being part of a large-scale infrastructure programme of work ideally within the water sector.
• Ability to plan ahead and effectively delegate tasks to the engineering team.
• Sound knowledge of the latest building regulations, legislation and Health and Safety
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages
• Full driving licence essential
• Good communication skills (verbal and written) and able to engage with all stakeholders at all levels
• Excellent attention to detail and meticulous planning and organisational skills

• Undertaking surveys and setting out on-site
• Preparation of drawings and calculations to ensure quality control and compliance procedures are adhered to for engineering
• Monitoring construction progress to ensure that deadlines are being met
• Liaising with clients and carrying out site investigations
• Coordinating with engineers, subcontractors, and other parties involved in the construction project to ensure that all work is completed according to specifications.
• Liaising with quantity surveyors about the ordering and the pricing of materials
• Ensuring that health and safety and sustainability policies and legislation are adhered to.
