Chartered Structural Engineer role with well-regarded Engineering Consultancy, based just outside of Cork City

Your new company

Hays has been retained to recruit a Chartered Structural Engineer for a well-regarded Engineering Consultancy based just outside of Cork City.


Your new role

The successful Engineer will be responsible for leading the delivery of structural engineering solutions across a broad range of development projects.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Developing structural designs.

  • Coordinating with design team members, local authorities and statutory bodies.

  • Coordinating with contractors, and clients.

  • Leading a team of engineers and technicians.

  • You will also be expected to apply your solid technical engineering knowledge and problem-solving abilities to ensure the successful completion of projects.


What you'll need to succeed

  • Chartered Engineer status (Engineers Ireland or IStructE) with a minimum of 5 years of experience leading development projects from start to finish, ideally in Ireland, the UK, or Europe.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing structural designs for a broad range of projects.
  • Strong coordination skills with design team members, local authorities, statutory bodies, contractors, and clients.
  • Proven ability to lead a team of junior engineers and technicians.
  • Solid technical engineering knowledge with strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Good IT skills and experience with structural analysis packages.
  • Experience in developing and nurturing relationships with clients, design team members, and contractors.
  • Flexibility and commercial awareness.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Excellent time management and resource management skills.
  • A commitment to continuous professional development and learning.
  • A full driver's licence is desirable, and a valid work permit to work in Ireland is essential.
