Homeware Buyer role in Finglas

Your new company

Our client is a family business with a modern approach based in a state-of-the-art distribution centre in Dublin. They are experts in the Home, Garden and DIY markets.
They possess an entrepreneurial spirit and are passionate about what they do.

Your new role

We are seeking a buyer based in their head office in Dublin, Finglas. Working closely with and reporting to the Senior Buyer, you will be responsible for delivering the company strategy through successfully managing some major categories across Home, Garden and DIY. You will play an integral part in product sourcing and margin management to achieve profit targets, as well as continually assessing the categories against competition. You will be adept at managing existing supplier relationships and confident in sourcing new suppliers and products in order to strengthen their position in the market.

This is an exciting opportunity for an established buyer looking for the next step in progressing their career. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years buying experience, seeking a varied role across
multi-product categories in a fast-paced, growing Irish business.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Five years minimum experience in a similar buying position
  • Proven track record in achieving required sales and margins
  • Local and international product sourcing experience (for own brand development) with experience travelling to international trade shows and the Far East is preferable.
  • Excellent negotiation and influencing skills
  • Strong organisational and outstanding problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication skills and proactive attitude
  • Strong analytical, numerical and IT skills
  • Knowledge of trends
  • Experience developing and mentoring junior team members
