BCAR Inspector for sites in the Leinster region

Your new company

You will join a leading, award winning multidisciplinary architectural practice with a long established reputation for delivering innovative, high quality design solutions. With offices across Ireland and Europe, this practice works across a wide range of sectors including Data Centres, Life Sciences, Healthcare, Education and Commercial.
The organisation is recognised for its commitment to sustainability, wellness, and design excellence, and offers a collaborative, forward thinking environment where employees are encouraged to grow and develop. With a diverse and inclusive workforce and a strong pipeline of large scale projects, this is an excellent opportunity to join an expanding team.

Your new role

As a Building Inspector within a dedicated BCAR team, you will play a key role in supporting the delivery of compliant, high quality construction and architectural projects.
You will assist in managing and implementing BCAR compliance requirements, ensuring that all works are carried out in line with current Building Regulations, legislation and industry best practice. The role will involve conducting regular site inspections, preparing detailed inspection reports, and supporting the Assigned Certifier in their duties across multiple projects.

You will work closely with internal teams, contractors, engineers and clients, attending site and design meetings nationwide. Key responsibilities include preparing commencement and completion notices, developing and maintaining inspection plans, tracking compliance issues through to resolution, and managing project documentation via the Building Control Management System. This is an excellent opportunity to gain exposure to large-scale local and international projects in a fast paced and design led environment.

What you'll need to succeed

To be successful, you will have approximately 6–8 years of on-site construction experience, along with a qualification in a relevant discipline such as Architecture, Building Surveying, Civil/Structural Engineering, or M&E Engineering. You will have a strong understanding of Building Control Legislation, Building Regulations and industry best practice, with experience working on complex construction projects. Knowledge of BCAR processes and documentation is important, while experience or training in the role of Assigned Certifier would be advantageous.

You will also demonstrate:
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • A high level of attention to detail
  • The ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
  • A collaborative approach to working within multidisciplinary teams
  • A proactive and self-motivated mindset
  • Experience using compliance systems and BCMS

What you'll get in return

Along with the opportunity to work on high profile, large scale projects for multinational clients can also avail of the following:
  • Competitive annual leave with service-related increases
  • Pension scheme
  • Generous family benefits (maternity top-up & enhanced paternity leave)
  • Hybrid and flexible working, including early Friday finish
  • Opportunities for international projects and travel
  • Full support for CPD, professional subscriptions, and further education
  • Paid study leave and clear career progression opportunities
  • Access to health and dental insurance schemes (including family cover)
  • Bike to Work and TaxSaver schemes
  • Active social club and team events
