A well-established accounting practice based in South Dublin is currently seeking to hire an Accounts Assistant. This is a full-time permanent position offering a competitive salary of €40,000 to €45,000 depending on experience. The firm provides a range of services including bookkeeping, payroll, VAT returns, and management accounts to a diverse portfolio of SME clients across various industries. Your new role

You will be responsible for supporting the delivery of client accounting services, including managing accounts payable and receivable, posting and allocating payments, reconciling bank and client accounts, and assisting with credit control. You will also contribute to month-end reporting, prepare VAT returns, and support audit preparation. The role involves regular communication with clients and internal team members, requiring a high level of accuracy, professionalism, and client service.

What you'll need to succeed

To be successful in this role, you will need at least 5 years’ experience in a similar accounting support role, ideally within a practice environment. A strong understanding of AP/AR processes and experience with accounting software such as Sage, Xero, or QuickBooks is desirable. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and excellent attention to detail are essential. The ideal candidate will be organised, client-focused, and capable of managing multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
