This employer is a leading organisation committed to fostering a positive workplace culture and supporting professional development. With a strong presence in Cork, the organisation offers excellent benefits, including a career-average pension scheme, generous annual leave, hybrid working options, and a supportive team environment.

Your new role

As an Administrative Assistant / PA (Grade 4), you will play a key role in supporting the Health and Welfare Divisional team. Acting as a first point of contact for member queries, you’ll demonstrate empathy, professionalism, and efficiency in all communications.
Your responsibilities will include:

  • Handling phone and email queries from members and stakeholders.
  • Preparing documents, correspondence, and member communications.
  • Managing meeting coordination, diary scheduling, and note-taking.
  • Maintaining accurate member data and assisting with report preparation.
  • Supporting ballots, elections, and bulk mailouts.
  • Participating in reception cover and providing cross-functional support to the Cork team.

What you'll need to succeed

The ideal candidate will bring strong administrative and organisational skills, with a proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced and collaborative environment. You will be empathetic and confident in engaging with people from diverse backgrounds, while also demonstrating excellent written communication skills and attention to detail. Experience in drafting professional correspondence, managing sensitive information with discretion, and using Microsoft Office tools (including Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, and more) is essential. You should be comfortable working with databases and open to learning new technologies. A background that reflects a commitment to social justice, public service, or worker empowerment is highly valued. While not essential, having a full driving licence and access to a car is desirable due to occasional travel requirements.

What you'll get in return

In return for your dedication and contribution, you’ll join a values-led organisation that prioritises employee wellbeing and professional growth. You’ll benefit from a competitive salary starting and yearly increments apply. The role offers a career-average pension scheme, generous annual leave, and flexible working arrangements including hybrid options. You’ll also have access to financial and practical support for professional development, and be part of a collaborative, inclusive team that reflects the organisation’s commitment to social justice and worker empowerment.
