As part of this journey, they are now seeking to appoint a senior leader to oversee and evolve their facilities' functions in line with future needs and strategic ambitions.
Responsibilities
- Define and implement our client’s workplace and health & safety policies in line with current legislation and recognised industry standards.
- Create plans and execution roadmaps to bring these strategies to life, ensuring they align with business needs while remaining cost-effective.
- Oversee the risk management framework by conducting assessments to pinpoint potential dangers and implementing preventive measures to reduce incidents.
- Lead the design and rollout of health and safety training initiatives for all employees and applicable third-party contractors.
- Collaborate with the Chief People & Capability Officer on investigations into health & safety incidents, driving root cause analysis, corrective actions, and risk mitigation.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of health and safety activity and prepare reports and insights for the Board, Executive Team, and relevant external parties.
- Ensure full regulatory compliance by staying abreast of changes in health & safety legislation and understanding their impact on both our clients and the wider sector.
- Work closely with management and employees across the group to reinforce a safety-first mindset and uphold required accreditations.
- Oversee external service partnerships in facilities management, security, and catering, ensuring service excellence and cost efficiency.
- Direct the execution of facilities-related projects from planning through to delivery.
- Define and monitor performance standards through clear Service Level Agreements (SLAs) to ensure optimal service performance.
What You Will Need to Succeed
- 8 years’ experience in managing health & safety.
- A minimum of eight years’ experience in overseeing health and safety functions.
- Solid knowledge of relevant health and safety regulations and legal requirements.
- Proven background in managing workplace facilities and overseeing third-party service providers.
- Demonstrated ability to lead high-performing teams through periods of change and transition.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence at all levels.
- Well-developed operational and process management capabilities, with experience in service-oriented or operations-driven settings.
