Procurement Officer role with an Engineering firm in Mayo

Your new company

Are you passionate about working in a dynamic environment where no two days are the same? Do you have a knack for sourcing the best deals, building great relationships, and ensuring things run smoothly? If so, this role is the perfect job for you!

Your new role

We’re seeking a Procurement Officer who’s more than just organised and efficient—we want a proactive force who can optimise procurement workflows, challenge the status quo, and elevate the way our client operates. This role is your opportunity to take ownership, lead initiatives, and play a strategic part in pushing the company forward.

MAIN DUTIES:
  • Take ownership of the procurement function: improve, streamline, and modernise how we source materials and services.
  • Drive cost-efficiency through data-led supplier analysis, negotiations, and strategic sourcing.
  • Foster supplier excellence: develop robust partnerships with vendors and lead supplier performance reviews.
  • Enhance procurement systems: identify process inefficiencies and lead improvements, especially using tools like Sage Professional.
  • Collaborate across departments to anticipate procurement needs and deliver timely, budget-friendly solutions.
  • Lead stock, tool, and fleet management with precision and accountability.
  • Monitor and optimise hired plant and equipment for cost-effectiveness and availability.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Proven procurement experience—bonus if it’s in mechanical, engineering, or construction sectors.
  • Demonstrated ability to take initiative, lead improvements, and implement process changes.
  • Commercial acumen with strong negotiation and supplier relationship management skills.
  • Experience using procurement or ERP systems (Sage Professional preferred).
  • A problem-solver who thrives on autonomy, owns their workload, and delivers results.

What you'll get in return

  • Empowerment & Growth: This role isn’t about maintaining the status quo—it’s about leading change. You’ll be trusted to innovate and drive real results.
  • Professional Development: Access to training, upskilling, and career progression pathways.
  • Supportive Culture: Join a team where your voice matters, your work is valued, and your success is our success.
  • Dynamic Environment: Every day brings new challenges and opportunities to learn and contribute.
