An FCCA qualified Finance Director with over 16 year's experience (10 at Board level) in multi-national businesses across both the private and public sectors in manufacturing, sales & distribution. He is also as Chartered Director and a fellow of the Institute of Directors, experienced in implementing best practice in strategy, corporate governance and quality management.
He has been the Finance Director for the last 6 years for two businesses owned by a multi-national FMCG plc. This turnaround assignment resulted in returning the group to profitability - increasing sales by 63%, ROCE to 40% and cash generated at 120% of profit. Achievements include the set up of a new £6m Catering Design business, creation of a profit analysis process, restructure of the sales function into autonomous business units and general management of a £6m Cleaning and Catering business unit.
Trained in industry, initially as the Brewery Financial Controller, he was promoted to the Financial Reporting and Commercial Support Manager during a merger with a complete change in IT systems and reporting framework. He went on to be selected to partner with a new Managing Director tasked with turning around the failing Republic of Ireland business, in which they successfully grew sales, market share and profit over 2 years.
Moving to the public sector to gain Director level experience, he joined an organization undergoing massive change. Here, he and the Chief Executive successfully led the company through a merger with 8 other organizations, winning quality awards at Northern Ireland, UK and European levels.
He presents very well at interview and has clearly demonstrable senior level skills. He has been highly regarded by his previous employers, with excellent references and recommendations. He has recently relocated to Galway with his family and is looking for a senior level position.
