About the Role
You will join a high-performing team of data scientists and data analysts responsible for building and enhancing the Pricing Engine that powers the organisation’s pricing platform. This team develops optimisation algorithms that balance multiple business goals under various constraints and uncertain future outcomes.
As a Python Developer, you will contribute to extending business logic within the Pricing Engine, expanding automated test coverage, managing code releases across environments, and documenting pricing logic. You will work closely with data scientists and gain insight into advanced modelling techniques used on the platform.

Primary Responsibilities
• Develop business logic within the Pricing Engine using Python and SQL, including building automated tests.
• Manage code progression across lower environments, including branching, merging, and release control.
• Explore, analyse and interpret large datasets to identify trends, anomalies, and insights.
• Collaborate with internal partners and team members to solve complex problems.
• Document Pricing Engine logic clearly and effectively.
• Uphold high standards of software quality, design, and coding practices.
• Work independently with focus, while contributing actively to team goals.
• Follow established solution-delivery practices and standards.

Required Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, or a related technical field.
• Strong programming experience with Python and SQL.
• Solid experience in data analysis and problem-solving.
• Experience with production change processes, Agile delivery, deployments, version control, and testing practices.
• Hands-on experience with GitHub and code management workflows.

Preferred Qualifications
• Exposure to data science workflows and techniques.
• Experience with Azure analytics solutions.
• Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and containerisation.
• Master’s degree or PhD in a STEM discipline.
