Senior Financial Accountant – Tax & Compliance

An established and highly reputable organisation is seeking an experienced Senior Financial Accountant – Tax & Compliance to join its centralised finance function. The company supports multiple business entities across both ROI and NI/UK, providing high‑quality financial, tax, and compliance expertise. Your new role
In this high‑impact role, you will take ownership of all direct and indirect tax compliance across ROI and NI/UK, working closely with external tax advisors to ensure all filings are accurate, timely, and fully compliant with legislation.
You will also support statutory financial reporting across several entities, preparing tax computations, reconciliations, disclosures, and financial statements under IFRS and FRS102.
Your responsibilities will include contributing to the annual audit process, leading tax digitisation initiatives, and enhancing internal controls. This role offers a strong blend of tax compliance, statutory reporting, audit support, and process improvement.
Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading VAT, Intrastat, EC Sales, VIES, RCT, CIS and other tax-related filings
  • Preparing and reviewing corporate tax computations and tax packs
  • Preparing tax disclosures for statutory financial statements and supporting quarterly US GAAP reporting
  • Preparing and reviewing financial statements under IFRS and FRS102
  • Supporting annual audits and managing tax‑related queries
  • Leading tax process improvements and digitisation projects
  • Maintaining strong internal controls and liaising with senior stakeholders
  • Assisting with ad‑hoc and project‑based work as required
What you'll need to succeed
  • ACA/ACCA qualification with 3–5 years’ post‑qualification experience
  • Strong working knowledge of Irish and UK corporate tax and indirect taxes
  • Experience engaging with HMRC and Companies House
  • Solid technical expertise in IFRS, Companies Act requirements, and tax compliance
  • Excellent communication, organisational and analytical skills
  • High attention to detail and the ability to meet tight deadlines
  • Proactive, self‑motivated approach with the ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Strong IT skills, including MS Office, Excel and ERP systems (Oracle experience an advantage)
