Facilities Soft Service Engineer role with semi-state organisation headquartered in Cork

A large, nationally recognised organisation responsible for delivering critical infrastructure and services across Ireland is seeking to expand its Facilities Operations team. With a strong focus on operational excellence, sustainability, and employee wellbeing, the organisation supports a wide property portfolio including headquarters, regional offices, and specialist sites.
Your new role
As a Facilities Soft Services Engineer, you will support the delivery of soft facilities management services across a diverse portfolio of commercial and operational sites nationwide. Reporting to the Soft Services Technical Lead, you will play a key role in ensuring buildings operate efficiently, services meet high standards, and issues are resolved promptly.
You will be involved in day-to-day facilities operations, supplier coordination, compliance activities, and the mobilisation of new or refurbished sites. This is a varied role requiring strong organisational skills, stakeholder engagement, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. Responsibilities include:
- Support the delivery of soft FM services across multiple locations (cleaning, catering, reception, waste management, workspace planning, etc.)
- Act as a point of contact for site-based issues and ensure timely resolution
- Assist with the mobilisation and setup of services in new or refurbished buildings
- Coordinate spatial planning activities, including seating plans and workspace utilisation tracking
- Liaise with external service providers and monitor performance against agreed standards
- Support contract compliance and ensure suppliers meet service level agreements
- Assist with audits, inspections, and health & safety compliance activities
- Maintain accurate records, reports, and documentation for facilities operations
- Support budget tracking, invoice processing, and reporting activities
- Assist with internal events coordination, including logistics and catering
- Support employee welfare initiatives and facilities-related administration
- Contribute to continuous improvement and operational efficiency initiatives
- Provide support on strategic projects across offices, operational centres, and specialised facilities
- Carry out general facilities duties as required
What you'll need to succeed
- A relevant third-level qualification in Facilities Management, Engineering, or similar
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in facilities management or a similar operational role
- Strong experience managing soft services such as cleaning, catering, and workplace services
- Experience working with service providers and contract personnel at scale
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Strong organisational skills with high attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently and as part of a team
- A proactive, solutions-focused mindset
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Experience with FM systems such as CAFM, BMS, or similar tools is desirable
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
- Full, clean driver’s licence
