An assistant project manager / project coordinator (construction) is required in the mid-west region.
Your new company
Our client is involved in fit-out / construction projects across Ireland and the UK. They are now seeking an assistant project manager / project coordinator who will be based in the mid-west region. The role would suit someone living in Clare / Limerick. You will work alongside the Project Management team and will oversee retail fit-out / construction activity in the UK & Ireland, ensuring projects are set up correctly, and are operating in a collective and efficient manner following all the best practices, policies and procedures. The role would suit a construction graduate with 3 years' or more experience.Your new role
Main responsibilities of Assistant Project Manager / Project Coordinator
- Responsible for overseeing multiple projects, at the strategic level. Managing shared resources and finances, to make sure each project is progressing on time, and within budget.
- Oversee coordination with the client and design team during the planning and design phase, to ensure that construction planning meets all stakeholder requirements.
- Developing budgets, and managing costs, to ensure that construction projects are completed within budget guidelines.
- Making sure that all construction projects meet health and safety codes, quality requirements, environmental regulations, and building regulations.
- Making strategic decisions, and providing leadership and direction to the project team, to implement those decisions.
- Implementing and defining procedures for enhanced performance.
- Ensuring personnel operate to company procedures.
- Meeting with clients, stakeholders and project team to report on project progress.
- Managing risks to avoid delays or reputational damage.
- Liaising with clients and building strong working relationships.
- Work cohesively with Senior Management, on day-to-day operations, while developing future pipeline and growth policies.
What you'll need to succeed
- Solid communication skills, with the ability to be assertive, while being diplomatic.
- 3+ years of relevant post-qualification experience, with an appropriate qualification or equivalent experience.
- Experience in the execution of commercial/retail construction projects.
- Ability to work on your own initiative and stamp authority on projects.
- Strong IT skills, including but not limited to Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word and AutoCAD
- Excellent organisational and time management skills.
- Ability to read construction drawings.
- History of working on successful projects within the industry in Ireland/UK markets.
- Fluent English.
- Knowledge of Retail Fire Alarm and Sprinkler construction elements is beneficial but not necessary.
