Financial Accountant – 12-month contract – On-site role based in Co. Clare – Manufacturing Industry

Your new role
You will play a key role in driving financial insight, improving reporting accuracy, and supporting business decision-making through robust analysis and modelling. This is a full-time role with working hours of 9am-05pm Monday-Friday, based fully on-site in Clare. This is a 12-month temporary contract.
- Support and administer the sales commission programme, ensuring accuracy and integrity of calculations.
- Investigate and resolve commission discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Act as a key point of contact for commission-related queries from the sales team.
- Assist in the preparation and delivery of Sales Performance Incentive reporting.
- Perform month-end closing activities, including journal postings and maintenance of financial schedules.
- Review payroll-related entries to ensure completeness and accuracy.
- Complete bank, intercompany, and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Prepare and deliver monthly financial reporting packs.
- Validate purchase transactions to ensure correct coding and classification.
- Develop and maintain financial models to analyse revenue, cost, and profitability trends.
- Monitor and analyse variances between actual performance and forecasts, providing clear commentary on deviations.
- Conduct scenario planning and sensitivity analysis to support strategic decision-making.
- Provide financial insights to support business initiatives and cost optimisation strategies.
- Drive continuous improvement in financial modelling, reporting and analytical processes.
- Support management of P&L, balance sheet, and working capital.
- Participate in month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.
- Support the annual audit process and associated deliverables.
- Take responsibility for Group Service reporting across Ireland and at corporate level.
- Contribute to the financial management and oversight of major projects.
What you'll need to succeed
- Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
- Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in a similar role, ideally within a commercial or analytical environment.
- Proven experience in FP&A, financial analysis, and business partnering.
- Strong background in financial modelling and variance analysis.
- Experience working with financial systems such as SAP and Salesforce.
- Exposure to systems implementation projects is advantageous.
- Advanced Excel skills with strong modelling capability.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to influence stakeholders.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.
- Collaborative mindset with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
