Your new company

You will report directly to the Financial Controller and become part of a large, collaborative finance team. Your new role
Main duties include:

  • Prepare and issue accurate sales invoices for the UK and Ireland, ensuring accuracy and adherence to agreed contract terms and timelines.
  • Verify that all invoices are fully supported by the required documentation, such as signed certificates and retention schedules.
  • Maintain and regularly update detailed revenue and retention records using Excel-based tracking tools outside the core accounting system.
  • Act as a key point of contact for site teams and project managers, addressing queries related to invoicing, project variations, and supporting documentation.
  • Ensure all financial records are well-documented by keeping a clear and complete audit trail of invoices, communications, and supporting files.
  • Handle the processing of a high volume of supplier invoices and credit notes, including accurate coding, system input, and document management.
  • Respond to and resolve account queries by liaising with suppliers and on-site teams in a timely and professional manner.
  • Support the maintenance and accuracy of payment schedules through regular updates of Excel-based tracking files.
  • Provide cover for team members during periods of leave and contribute to the smooth running of the wider Accounts Payable function.
  • Offer ongoing administrative support to ensure the efficient operation of the finance department.

What you'll need to succeed
This role is ideally suited to a motivated and ambitious individual with previous experience in a busy finance environment. A qualification in business, finance, or accounting is preferred (or equivalent practical experience). Part-qualified accountants currently pursuing ACCA or ACA will also be well suited, as the role offers excellent career development opportunities.

From a technical perspective, strong Microsoft Office skills are essential, particularly in Excel. Experience with accounting systems such as ABM or COINS would be advantageous.
This is a fast-paced, high-volume role, requiring excellent attention to detail, strong organisational skills, and the ability to manage multiple deadlines effectively. Above all, we are seeking someone with a proactive, solution-focused mindset, who is eager to learn and able to collaborate effectively across the wider organisation.
