Join one of Dublin's leading building subcontractors. - Your new company has a proven track record of successful delivery of sustainable critical environments and construction projects across Ireland, with a portfolio that includes global data centre clients, commercial offices and innovative infrastructure solutions. They are currently seeking an experienced Health and Safety Advisor to join their high-performing project teams in Dublin.

Your new role
You will report to the Health and Safety Manager and be responsible for establishing, developing and directing the implementation of the Health and Safety strategy on Projects while ensuring that a Positive Safety Culture is maintained, and that the company is established as an industry leader in relation to Health, Safety and Environmental compliance.

Role Responsibilities
  • Work closely with the operational team and support the development and monitoring of safe systems of work and risk assessments to ensure all project activities are adequately planned and executed.
  • Auditing and Reporting. Ensuring Projects are audited; H&S indices are tracked, and non-conformances are addressed.
  • Lead and influence H&S culture across projects.
  • Support and engage the workforce in the identification of occupational health, safety and environmental risk and coach them in risk mitigation.
  • Ensure projects operate in compliance with all statutory requirements and best practice.
  • Highlight and advise on health and safety-related issues from pre-construction to completion of all associated project works.
  • Attend Start-Up meetings with site teams and be an active participant.
  • Provide advice, guidance, and instruction on all health and safety matters to management, safety representatives and employees (including subcontractors where appropriate).
  • Conduct regular inspections and site audits, reporting findings to site and senior company management. Ensure issues follow-up is required to ensure that actions are dealt with immediately.
What you'll need to succeed
  • A degree or diploma in Occupational Health and Safety.
  • 3+ years’ experience working on large-scale commercial/construction projects.
  • Highly organised and capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Conscientious, highly focused and detail-orientated.
  • Self-starter and the ability to build relationships with all stakeholders.
  • A full clean driving licence is preferable.
  • Excellent communication skills.
