Quantity Surveyor – Large Scale Projects, Cork

Your new company

You will be joining a civil engineering and construction contractor delivering groundworks, utilities (water, sewer, stormwater, electrical ducting), site development, and specialist systems such as Greenwall retaining structures and ICF construction. The organisation is known for quality, safety, reliable delivery, and operates under accredited Quality, Environmental, and Health & Safety systems.


Your new role

  • Prepare cost plans, bills of quantities (BOQs), measurements, and tender documentation for civil engineering and groundworks packages.

  • Lead subcontractor and supplier procurement, including enquiries, comparisons, and recommendations.

  • Manage contract administration, including valuations, payment applications, variations, change control, claims, and final accounts.

  • Maintain cost control, forecasting, cashflow reporting, and budget tracking throughout the project lifecycle.

  • Analyse construction methods, materials, and cost options to support value engineering and risk management.

  • Monitor financial progress on site, track deviations from estimates, and provide early warning on commercial risks.

  • Liaise closely with project managers, engineers, and external stakeholders to ensure alignment between commercials, programme, and technical delivery.

  • Support adherence to quality, environmental, and health & safety standards in all commercial processes.


What you'll need to succeed

  • 4+ years experience in Quantity Surveying

  • A degree in Quantity Surveying / Construction Economics or equivalent, with experience in civil engineering or groundworks.

  • Strong skills in measurement, cost control, contract administration, and financial reporting.

  • Familiarity with utilities, drainage, earthworks, or modern construction methods.

  • Proficiency in QS software and Excel, with strong communication and negotiation skills.
