QA/QC Manager - Precast Concrete – Blessington - Wicklow –
We are looking to hire a Quality Assurance/Quality Control Manager to join our team based in Blessington, Co. Wicklow. Reporting to the General Manager, the QA/QC Manager will ensure the quality and durability of concrete products by conducting tests, analyzing results and implementing improvements in construction projects.
Key Responsibilities
• Work under the direction of the GM and alongside our manufacturing Foreman.
• Testing and Inspection: Conduct tests to ensure compliance with industry standards and specifications.
• Quality Assurance: Monitor the production process to maintain the structural integrity of concrete products, ensuring they meet safety and performance standards.
• Reporting: Document findings and provide recommendations for improvements based on test results and inspections.
• Collaboration and co-ordination: Liaise with the relevant manager to highlight any issues that may arise and be proactive to identify necessary solutions. Work with colleagues throughout the organisation in a professional and communicative manner.
• Paperwork: Completion of Quality Control documents as appropriate and as required.
• Identification: Identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiencies. Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of implemented quality measures.
• Education: As part of the Quality Team, provide training to staff on quality standards and best practices. Foster a culture of quality thinking within the organisation.
• Continuous Improvement: Implement quality control methodologies and participate in training programmes to enhance the quality of concrete production processes.
Required Skills and Qualifications
• Educational Background: A solid understanding of concrete compositions, production processes and quality control methodologies is essential. A degree in civil engineering, construction management or a related field is required.
• Experience: Previous experience in quality control within the construction industry, particularly with concrete, is highly beneficial
• Attention to Detail: Strong analytical skills and attention to detail are crucial for identifying quality issues and ensuring compliance with standards.
