Civil Site Engineer – North Dublin Based - Hourly Rates Available

Your New Role & Responsibilities:

This position is based in North Dublin, working on a range of infrastructure and utilities projects, including drainage, sewage, roadworks, and general civil packages.

This role will be predominantly paid on an hourly rate basis, with payment for every hour worked on site.

Selection of Duties:

  • Carry out all setting‑out activities using GPS, total stations, levels and associated surveying tools.
  • Oversee and support civil crews on drainage, utilities, road construction and general civils works.
  • Ensure works are delivered in line with project specifications, drawings, and quality standards.
  • Maintain accurate site records including as‑builts, surveys, QA documentation and daily reports.
  • Coordinate with Project Managers, Site Foremen, Engineers and client representatives.
  • Assist in planning works, sequencing activities and ensuring materials and resources are available.
  • Conduct regular checks to ensure compliance with safety, environmental and regulatory requirements.

What You’ll Need to Succeed:

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience as a Civil Site Engineer on civils, utilities or infrastructure projects.
  • Strong proficiency in setting out, including drainage, sewage, utilities and roadworks.
  • Ability to interpret drawings, specifications and technical documents.
  • Experience using GPS, robotic total stations, levels and surveying software.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work closely with site teams and subcontractors

Hourly rate: €30–€40 per hour depending on experience (typically €70,000 – €105,000 depending on hours and experience
based on 45–50 hours per week).

  • PAYE or self‑employed options available

Salary packages can also be offered in the region of €65,000 – €85,000+ depending on level of experience. This includes vehicle allowance, pension contributions and performance‑based bonuses.
