Site Engineer – Lead civil contractor – working on behalf of the ESB in Dublin

Overview
A leading civil engineering contractor is seeking a motivated Site Engineer to join its team delivering ESB utility and infrastructure projects across Dublin. This is an excellent opportunity to work on essential power infrastructure works, contributing to the development and maintenance of Ireland’s energy network.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out setting out and surveying duties across ESB-related civil works
  • Interpret project drawings, specifications, and method statements
  • Support site management in coordinating day-to-day project activities
  • Ensure works are delivered to required quality, safety, and environmental standards
  • Maintain accurate site records, including as-built drawings and reports
  • Liaise with subcontractors, ESB representatives, and internal teams
  • Assist in managing site documentation and compliance requirements
  • Identify and resolve on-site engineering challenges

Candidate Requirements
  • Degree or diploma in Civil Engineering or a related field
  • 2+ years’ experience as a Site Engineer within civil engineering or utilities projects
  • Experience working on ESB or utility-type projects highly desirable
  • Strong setting out skills using Total Station / GPS equipment
  • Ability to read and interpret civil engineering drawings
  • Good understanding of health & safety regulations, particularly in utility environments
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
  • Full driving licence
