You will join a legal team as a Legal Secretary supporting a Medical Negligence department. In this role, you will provide high‑quality administrative, typing, and client support to ensure cases progress efficiently and professionally. You will work closely with solicitors, manage sensitive documentation, and assist with the smooth operation of day‑to‑day legal activities.
Your responsibilities
- Produce accurate legal documents using digital dictation and audio typing.
- Prepare, format, and file legal correspondence, forms, and case materials.
- Manage diaries, schedule appointments, and organise meetings for fee earners.
- Handle client enquiries in person, by phone, and by email with professionalism and confidentiality.
- Transcribe interviews, take detailed notes, and assist with legal research as required.
- Gather and organise case-related information, including medical records, reports, and supporting documentation.
- Carry out general administrative duties such as scanning, photocopying, and document management.
What you'll need to succeed
- Previous experience as a Legal Secretary, ideally within litigation or medical negligence.
- Strong dictaphone and audio typing skills with high accuracy and speed.
- Excellent organisational and multitasking abilities.
- Professional communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to work to deadlines.
