HVAC Design Engineer - Cork

A leading engineering and technology manufacturer is seeking a HVAC Design Engineer to join their expanding product engineering team. This role is ideal for an experienced design professional who enjoys working on complex HVAC solutions and supporting the full lifecycle of bespoke cooling equipment.
Your new role
Reporting to the Product Engineering Manager, you will support concept design for speciality AHUs, IECs, DECs and CDUs. You will manage component verification, prepare technical documentation and ensure all designs meet project specifications. You’ll also assist application engineering with tender submissions and support smooth integration of designs into production.
Key Responsibilities
Support development of design concepts for AHUs, IECs, DECs and CDUs.
Verify and select key components such as coils, compressors, fans, dampers, actuators, filters and louvres.
Prepare and review installation manuals, spare parts lists, technical submittals, drawings and datasheets.
Support tender submissions through technical reviews and compilation of responses.
Ensure designs meet all project and client specifications.
Coordinate with production for smooth manufacturing handover.
Maintain consistent design quality across all customer projects.
What you'll need to succeed
Background in HVAC or mechanical design engineering.
Experience with AHU or cooling equipment design is advantageous.
Strong technical documentation and component selection skills.
Ability to collaborate effectively with design, applications and production teams.
