Your New Role
As a Maintenance Technician, you will play a key role in ensuring the reliability and performance of all manufacturing machinery and onsite equipment. You will troubleshoot issues, conduct routine and unplanned maintenance, and work to minimise downtime while maximising operational efficiency.
This role requires a discreet and professional individual who can maintain confidentiality, demonstrate initiative, and contribute effectively within a shift-based environment. Participation in an on‑call rota is required to support 24/7 production operations.
There are no direct supervisory responsibilities associated with this role.
Responsibilities
- Perform and record routine machine and plant maintenance checks and service activities.
- Stay informed on changes to engineering legislation and assist in ensuring compliance.
- Communicate effectively with the Facilities and Maintenance Manager to optimise production efficiency.
- Support the sourcing and stocking of critical spare parts while maintaining cost awareness.
- Assist team members to ensure high-quality work is completed within required timelines.
- Contribute to ensuring 24-hour maintenance cover is available for production support.
- Assist in managing external contractors and ensure adherence to Health & Safety requirements.
- Support the process of obtaining quotations for works and service contracts.
- Participate in project management, including new machine installations.
- Maintain, develop, and continually improve product quality.
- Ensure all work complies with relevant standards, specifications, and safety regulations.
- Review project progress and costings regularly to identify variances or cost-saving opportunities.

Training & Development

What You Will Need to Succeed
- Hands-on experience in repairing/troubleshooting machine breakdowns (Mechanical/Electrical/Hydraulic/Pneumatics)
- Knowledge in operation and maintenance of conveyors, optical sorters, baling machines, augers, screw feeders, granulators, extruders.
- Conduct repairs/replacements of AC/DC motors, gearboxes, pumps, bearings, chains, sprockets, electrical contractors, fuses, drives and other parts.
- Experience/knowledge of technical product specifications for parts.
- Experience in welding (arc welding, MIG)
- Experience –Mechanical or Electrical Qualification preferred with a minimum of 3 years’ experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience – Troubleshooting experience on highly automated production equipment.
- Demonstrable experience in electro-mechanical background.
- Previous maintenance/fault finding experience.
