Maintenance - Technician - Electrician - Industrial

Your New Role
Our client is seeking an experienced Maintenance Electrical Technician with a minimum of 4 years’ hands‑on experience in an industrial manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will have strong diagnostic skills, solid electrical knowledge, and the ability to maintain, repair, and improve a wide range of automotive and industrial equipment—from robotic arms and conveyor systems to induction coil furnaces, mixers, and blenders.
This role is critical in ensuring equipment reliability, minimising downtime, and supporting safe and efficient operations.
Responsibilities
- Perform preventative, predictive, and corrective maintenance on industrial manufacturing electrical systems, machinery, and equipment.
- Diagnose electrical and mechanical faults using multimeters, diagnostic tools, and technical documentation.
- Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair control panels, motors, sensors, wiring, and automotive electrical components.
- Work with fitters and mechanical technicians to repair machinery issues including conveyors, lifts, and pumps.
- Install and commission electrical systems and components in accordance with industry standards, safety regulations, and company policies.
- Maintain accurate documentation of work performed, parts replaced, and timelines to build an asset history library and support scheduling and inventory planning.
- Collaborate with fitters, mechanical technicians, engineers, and production teams to resolve issues and support continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications & Experience
- Qualified Electrical Maintenance Technician, Craft Electrician, or equivalent advanced certification.
- Proven experience in a manufacturing, industrial, or production environment with strong aptitude in PLC control.
- Proficiency with hydraulic, pneumatic, motorised systems, instrumentation, and sensors.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals.
- Strong understanding of safe work practices and maintenance safety procedures.
Big Advantage
- PLC troubleshooting and fault‑finding experience (Allen Bradley, Siemens, Omron, etc.).
- Understanding of HMI systems and industrial networks (Profibus, Profinet, Ethernet/IP, etc.).
- Mechanical awareness including belts, chains, bearings, couplings, etc.
Competencies
- Strong technical competencies with deep understanding of electrical systems and components.
- Excellent fault‑finding and diagnostic skills, including root cause analysis.
- Clear communication skills with supervisors, engineers, and management.
- Adaptability and flexibility to respond to changing priorities, especially during unexpected breakdowns.
- Commitment to continuous learning and professional development, with openness to cross‑training with mechanical teams.
