Logistics Planner

Your new company

Our client is a market leader for comprehensive logistics solutions relating to handling and transporting liquid products for the food, gas, mineral oil and chemical industries.

Your new role

As a logistics planner, you will manage and control in-& outbound ISO tanks on & off the Island of Ireland, including domestic traffic, in a safe & efficient manner. This role is the face of our clients' business, both to customers and service suppliers. It requires attention to detail and the ability to manage problems without losing customer / supplier confidence.

Principal Accountabilities / Main functions:
Daily updating of traffic management system (Ortec)
Updating accounting system (Vista) with all relevant transport information
Liaising with customers, receivers and Offices regarding shipments
Creation and updating of shipments on systems
Dealing with customer queries & requests, ensuring requirements are met.
Routing and advising of schedules to subcontractors & branch offices.
Checking allocation of tanks to export shipments for compatibility, legal & customer requirements
Ensuring that all necessary administration work is completed i.e. Shipment updating / CMR / Drivers Instructions, shipping Advices / booking orders etc.
Reporting all quality / safety incidents, and initiating investigation of the same
Passing shipment related invoices
Advising extra costs to customers and entering the same information into HOYER systems to permit billing

What you'll need to succeed

  • Customer facing experience – Min 2 years experience
  • Logistics planning experience – Min 2 years' experience (By that we mean a direct trucking/trucking department interface.)
  • Hazardous cargo (ADR / IMDG) experience is much preferred.
  • Knowledge of UK customs, (PBN / GMR creation) is much preferred.
  • The ability to both work as a team and on your own is essential.
