This global construction industry giant operates as a key shared services hub within a global group, delivering finance and tax support across multiple entities. The team is known for its collaborative culture, structured processes, and focus on driving efficiency and best practice across the wider organisation. This hub is based in Dublin 24.
They are seeking a qualified Tax accountant / financial accountant with strong tax knowledge and experience to join the team on a permanent basis.This would suit someone practice trained, with a strong understanding of client taxation – corporation tax, income, VAT and the compliance that goes along with this.
This role required 2+ years PQE in industry in the Irish market and strong Irish taxation understanding, UK tax knowledge a bonus. Those applying without experience in the Irish taxation market will not be considered.Your new role
This is a newly created role, you will become a senior financial accountant with the responsibility of managing the external tax consultants. You will process general, day to day financial accounting activities alongside :- Lead all direct and indirect tax compliance activities across ROI and NI/UK, ensuring the timely and accurate submission of VAT, Intrastat, EC Sales, VIES, RCT, CIS and other statutory returns.
- Take ownership of the preparation, review and coordination of corporate tax computations, tax packs and supporting documentation, working closely with external tax advisors and auditors.
- Prepare tax disclosures and supporting schedules for inclusion in annual statutory financial statements and quarterly US GAAP reporting requirements.
- Lead the preparation and review of statutory financial statements under IFRS and FRS102, ensuring full compliance with relevant accounting and regulatory standards.
- Manage the year-end statutory accounts production process for multiple legal entities, coordinating inputs from finance, tax and external stakeholders to meet reporting deadlines.
- Support the monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting cycle, including balance sheet reviews, reconciliations and technical accounting assessments.
- Act as a key contact for external auditors, leading audit queries, preparing supporting documentation and ensuring a smooth and efficient audit process.
- Drive continuous improvements in financial reporting processes, controls and governance frameworks to enhance accuracy, efficiency and compliance.
- Lead tax and finance digitisation initiatives, identifying opportunities to automate processes and improve data quality and reporting capabilities.
- Maintain and strengthen internal control environments, ensuring compliance with corporate policies and regulatory requirements.
- Provide technical accounting and tax guidance to finance teams and senior stakeholders across the business.
- Liaise regularly with Directors, Senior Management, external advisors and cross-functional teams on financial reporting, compliance and strategic projects.
- Support business growth, restructuring activities, acquisitions and other ad hoc finance projects as required.
- Contribute to the development of best-in-class financial accounting and statutory reporting processes across the organisation
What you'll need to succeed
ACA/ACCA qualified with 2+ years’ PQE in the Irish market
Strong knowledge of Irish and UK tax (corporate & indirect) ideally from a practice or industry environment
Experience with financial reporting and month-end
Excellent attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
Strong stakeholder management skills
