As part of its Global Business Services team based in Cork, my client is seeking a Senior Payroll Coordinator to join a dynamic and growing payroll function. This hybrid opportunity offers the chance to work within a multinational environment while contributing to global payroll operations and continuous process improvements.

Your new role
As Senior Payroll Specialist, you will be responsible for the accurate, timely, and compliant delivery of payroll across designated countries and entities.

Key responsibilities include:
  • End-to-end payroll processing for assigned countries.
  • Validating payroll inputs, calculations, and outputs prior to approval.
  • Processing payroll changes including new hires, terminations, salary amendments, bonuses, benefits, overtime, and leave.
  • Managing payroll calendars, cut-off dates, and statutory deadlines.
  • Acting as a key point of contact for employees, HR, Finance, and external payroll providers.
  • Ensuring compliance with local payroll legislation, tax, and social security requirements.
  • Supporting internal and external payroll audits.
  • Preparing payroll reports, reconciliations, and variance analysis.
  • Supporting month-end and year-end payroll activities.
  • Identifying and implementing process improvements and supporting payroll transitions and system enhancements.
  • Providing guidance and support to payroll team members where required.

What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this role, you will have:
  • A minimum of 5 years' payroll experience, ideally within a multinational or shared services environment.
  • Strong end-to-end payroll processing experience with multiple pay elements.
  • Excellent knowledge of payroll legislation, compliance, and statutory requirements.
  • Experience working with third-party payroll providers.
  • Advanced Excel skills and experience using payroll systems such as Workday, SAP, ADP, or similar.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • A high level of accuracy, discretion, and attention to detail.
  • A third-level qualification in Business, Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline.
  • Payroll qualifications such as IPASS, CIPP, or equivalent would be an advantage.
