Cloud Engineer – Tech Lead (Azure) - CONTRACT

Cloud Engineer - 6-Month Contract
Need to be based in Ireland (NO sponsorship)

2 days on-site a week

They believe in using tools like artificial intelligence and machine learning to help solve health problems.

Your new role
We’re looking for a skilled Cloud Engineer – Tech Lead to help shape, build, and manage Azure-based cloud infrastructure for a small set of innovative data products. These solutions combine real-time IoT processing with machine learning outputs and require a focus on scalability, reliability, and cloud-native best practices.
  • Lead the technical design, implementation, and support of cloud-hosted infrastructure (primarily in Azure)
  • Build secure, high-availability environments using Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
  • Collaborate closely with product, UX, and architecture teams to deliver features
  • Guide and mentor engineers, supporting the growth of a new agile team
  • Troubleshoot complex issues and drive solutions in fast-moving projects
  • Maintain documentation and contribute to DevOps best practices and standards

What you'll need to succeed
  • Proven experience leading engineering teams or projects in cloud environments
  • Strong hands-on skills with Azure (or AWS/GCP), Terraform, Docker, and microservices
  • Programming experience in Python, Java, or similar languages
  • Familiarity with APIs, CI/CD pipelines, and modern cloud security practices
  • Experience with large-scale data systems and SQL
  • Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving abilities
  • Exposure to big data tools like Databricks, Spark, or DBT
  • Prior experience in regulated or high-impact domains (e.g. healthcare, public sector)
