Overview
A leading civil engineering contractor is seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join its commercial team in Dublin. This role offers the opportunity to work across a strong pipeline of long-term water and transport infrastructure projects, supporting delivery of some of Ireland’s most critical public infrastructure programmes. Clear opportunities for progression within the contractor.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the commercial management of multiple projects from tender through to final account
- Prepare, review, and manage project budgets, forecasts, and cost reports
- Administer contracts (NEC / Public Works Contracts) ensuring compliance and risk control
- Manage subcontractor procurement, negotiation, and accounts
- Assess variations, claims, and change control processes
- Liaise closely with project managers, engineers, and clients to ensure commercial performance targets are achieved
- Provide strategic commercial advice to senior stakeholders
- Mentor and support junior QS team members
Candidate Requirements
- Degree-qualified in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, or related discipline
- Minimum 6+ years’ experience in a Quantity Surveying role, with at least 2+ years at Senior level
- Strong background in civil engineering / infrastructure projects, ideally within water, utilities, or transport
- Excellent knowledge of Irish construction contracts (PW Contracts experience essential; NEC advantageous)
- Proven track record of delivering projects on time and within budget
- Strong negotiation and communication skills
- Commercially astute with a proactive, solutions-focused mindset
